Metal bar stockpiles are used in a wrong way

So I was reading some news article about an recycled airplane, and there was this picture of aluminium bar stockpiles ^.

Basically you can pile them into quite perfect cube shape and interlace the ingots like that, so that there is increased rigidity and capacity.

Why do we in hearthlands pile ingots in such a dumb way? And not like on the image above? I suggest to quadruple metal bar stockpile capacity and turn it into a cube shape, like in the image above.

Fun fact: full metal stockpile looks like it has 14 bars, that's because it was the original capacity it had when Hafen launched but people quickly complained that it was too small, so jorb increased the capacity without making a new model.

Also, I assumed the ingots are shaped like the way they are so that they're easier to get out of the mold where they cool down.

+1 big fan of making stockpiles bigger.

I still think most stockpiles should hold more than a cupboard, at least for 1x1 sized items... otherwise no reason to use them at all for storage
