Others suggested that the world needed more interaction and thus came the meteors.
I thought we could mix those two and get the Firebird.

A creature of legend, the Firebird would appear at the height of summer and scour the land with its brightness, glowing in the night.
Empires and hermits alike would see the bird fly high above their heads, ignoring them.
Untill the summer ends the Firebird would fly on the Hearthlands and, in its wake, a single feather would drop unnanounced.
This feather would do many things, as the Firebird have great power.
1st: It sheds light as strong as a Bonfire. Such light can be seen and followed in the night.
2nd: It banishes even the most fearsome of evil spirits, destroying Nidbanes with a mere touch but draining the feather of all its magic.
3rd: It is capable of bringing life again to a corpse. At a price, since the feather used in such a way that it only allows for the transference of life.
Such powers are also a curse in itself.
1st Curse: The owner of such a prize cannot hide, for the feather shines brightly.
2nd Curse: It's power is felt across great distances and every Hearthling can point in the direction of a feather even if it's underground.
3rd Curse: The ressurection rite burns and drains the life of the user so the dead can live again. But only a hardy enough person have good chances of beign successful.
Some say such a beast cannot exist. That its power would shake the very foundations of the Hearthlands. That a single feather with that amount of power would make Empires move their armies in search of a prize like that.
Others would rejoice with the possibilities it would bring, and to know that myth and legend can become a reality.

~Larp mode off:
A Firebird spawns in the middle of the world, the Ring of Brodgar, on the 52nd day of Summer, at midday.
It roams around the map randomly, but at great strides. I don't know the limitations of this.
Hearthlings would be able to tell the direction of the bird/feather at night, just like a meteor.
The Firebird itself isn't hostile and cannot be attacked, like Dryads.
At a random moment a feather would spawn on the ground, and can be picked up by hand.
There can be only one feather in the world. The feather will despawn at the next Firebird Spawn.
The feather functions as a Scent. A hearth magic can be used to track it.
If its in a container the tracking will point to the container. If its in an inventory it will point to that character, even if the character is underground. I don't know the limitations of this.
A character that possess a feather cannot log off.
The feather emits bright light and can be equiped.
Using the feather on a Nidbane makes the Nidbane die. The feather is also gone.
Using the feather on a corpse makes the corpse come back to life, healing its wounds and giving a wound named "Death Touched" or something like that. Death Touched heals of itself quickly (1/hr?) and begins at Max HHP of the character -1.
Making the corpse come back to life with 1 HHP. And then midges come and you're gone again.
The user of a feather gains a wound named "Burned by the Flame", that heals of itself, equal to half the character MaxHHP. A character can die using the feather, this does not affect the chance of ressurection. The higher the MaxHHP sacrificed of the user the higher the chance of a successful ressurection. Preferably in a way that a new character could still have like 33% chance of a successful ressurection.
A skeleton cannot be ressurected.
The target cannot inherit and be reborn, as it would mean forfeiting the chance of ressurection.
A ressurected character would be able to be selected at the character screen as if nothing happened.
Even with the chance of this never beign implemented I would like a discussion about it. What do other hermits think about this? What do big factions think about this?
Flaws of ressurecting people? The pros? Ressurecting someone could put another potential fighter out of the next fight and even the ressurected character wouldn't be able to fight of course. Would you squander the chance of ressurecting someone because you would rather risk not ressurecting someone using a new alt for that? Or groom an alt for Ressurections(wow)?
tl;dr bird spawns and drops feather that can ress ppl, discuss.
