How about hanging lanterns on our toolbelts and displaying them on our hips, allowing for natural and genuine lighting without a drawback while we're at it. Fun idea, can only be minorly beneficial.

I like to turn it off for aesthetic purposes. It sets a comfy mood.

You only need sharp edged tiles, flavor objects/sound removed, and all lighting disabled for when you're fighting or doing some poopsock shit.

The rest of the time can be comfy.

I also keep the brightening down for aesthetic reasons, the game looks very good including the shadows.
