Nearly every single mid tier shitter facebook mom I've talked to has given unambiguous positive feedback about realm chat, or complained when they're banned/realm dissolves/they're stuck in a quiet realm.

I don't even really care, but I think a large realm chat is one of those things that is the reason people stay logged in after doing their daily chores. I wouldn't have met most of my friends if not for realm chat. It's the one actually good thing about realms (when they're big), and I think the devs not supporting it more is actively hurting the game with regard to a more casual playstyle
