Remove animal hunting quality capping

Postby shubla » Fri Dec 10, 2021 7:37 am

Whats purpose of it? To reduce early game alt hunting bears maybe?
Well that's pretty dumb.
First of all, it doesn't work. People will still find ways to bughunt in early game.
Second, the cap is useless after first weeks/months as alts aren't even needed anymore.

Third, and most importantly, it prevents all kind of trade done with animals as no one wants to buy low q stuff capped by noobs.
First step towards trading bear carcasses etc. is to remove all kinds of quality caps caused by the hunter. (Also maybe something about ql nodes but that's not the point here)

Its also very dumb to increase survival for your fighter for sole purpose of now capping stuff. Kind of makes you want to make hunting alt with just high survival :| That you can then use to bughunt stuff with low combat stats :?

Did you cap a whale during the first week?

If that doesn't answer your question, idk what will.

If anything, you should suggest for quality nodes to be tuned the fuck down. 500% quality nodes are SO RETARDED JESUS CHRIST

Also there's no "bughunt". Loftar literally said, on stream, that you're supposed to cheese everything in this game, cause that's how it's supposed to be.

I did mention this and said that it is not the main topic of this thread.

I don't think that secret glitches are intended features. More like "intended" because they cannot get rid of them all.

Cheesing whales, on land, with a melee weapon that has a bigger range is not a secret glitch. Jorbtar wanting us to fight whales, at sea, while they literally prioritise bashing your boat rather than attacking you, is a brain glitch. Maybe fix that.

Survival capping animals is good, if we don't have it, shits gonna hit the end game where it gets too boring too fast

i think the ql capping is completely fine, and animal nodes themselves are boring in current execution. i think that's the bigger problem, which gets exacerbated by the problem-animals being obscenely dumb in their nodes too

ie trolls, mammoth, whales. q700+ trolls being invisible and impossible to find outside of "Woah holy shit" after its already dead, pretty fucking lame. q400+ whales being impossible to hunt down if you pull one from ??????????? of the ocean (when they already wander a shitload, have abysmal spawnrates, &c&c) and mammie nodes being so fucking small for what they really are
