There is a very rare, but possible, scenario where a budding young alchemist drinks a lethal potion. I'll be completely honest, I script auto-emptying potions specifically due to this possibility since I'm one who prefers using the same character for everything as much as is realistic. When testing alchemy, 100s of potions get dumped and the vast majority of those are very dangerous.
Detox elixir would strip all benefits of using alchemy including elixir healing points in the health screen and active potion effects. It would not remove alchemical wounds already accrued. The only positive impact I could see would be stopping lethal potions from killing if someone made a mistake and drank the wrong one.
