Every new food added to the game actively makes it worse/needlessly complex. People should be able to intuitively play effectively, not be confused why somebody who put the same effort in as them has literally x20 their stats.

Honestly I kinda disagree. That would probably be the case if there were only a few thousand foods, but I don't think sorting recipes in the millions could be fun even if the results can be easily predicted without experimenting/releasing clients to steal people's food data.
