Spring should have a chance to un-stunt trees

Title, I know there's the Hearth Magic but it's quite expensive.

is stunting trees an actual problem? I think except 3 trees in the beginning 5-6 months ago I actually never stunted a tree

Trees planted with shovel have up to 50% chance to stunt.

I was thinking that every shovel-planted tree should eventually grow to full size.

Or just actually die and vanish. Trees do fail to grow at times, I don't mind that. I mind them staying forever

Agree

I've planted a few orchards now by just shovel-planting them. The stunting is annoying because every day or two you have to go cull the dead ones and replant. It would be nice to be able to just set them and forget about them for a few seasons. 'They grow whenever they grow.'

You can always just use a planter's pot, but meh. Sometimes mass planting with a shovel is the way to go. Especially for decorating or for getting specific wood types for building

1000 exp is indeed quite ridiculous cost if instead you can simply use another seed, some water and soil instead (a lot cheaper than 1000 exp)

it should be like 50 exp at the best instead, so the very lazy ones can use it

Remind me what value tree stunting mechanics bring to the game exactly? Since potted trees never stunt it only applies to hand planted trees that are decorative anyway. Seems like obsolete mechanic to me.

Alternative: remove stunting altogether, give shovel-planted trees a growth speed penalty.
