Egg crates

How about egg crates? Liftable storage objects about the size of a crucible that can only hold eggs but can hold A LOT of em. Something like 100-150 eggs. Seems like that wouldn't be too game breaking so long as it was just eggs. Even if it was not liftable though that wouldn't make much sense. Just a thought, some of which are better than others.

Why too much? 100 eggs fits in a standart shopping plastic bag cmon. Everthing about storage in haven is plain retarded (looking at you onion pile) and feels like making tedium out of thin air.

Egg crate building materials could be wood (for frame/crate itself) and straw (as cushion.)

I would lean towards the 150 myself. A box of 5 dozen eggs from the shop is pretty small considering the contents. A crate to hold eggs would be amazing and 150 isn't really too much.

IDK why people are so afraid of big numbers. Why not have dedicated containers of two or three thousand? Would help for bulk trading of high volume/low value goods, and be better for manual instead of automated crafting.

One thing I rly liked about salem is how space-efficient a very productive village could be because of things like this. In hafen you need like 8 minimaps of wheat just to feed a decent number of animals. I hate walking through my village and seeing literally 60-70 stockpiles of straw, it's so ugly.

I think there is an amount of satisfaction to be gained from filling a stockpile or container to its maximum, and having multiple of that storage medium visible. Also, if the numbers are too high it could seem kind of daunting to some new players. If I built an egg crate and saw it could hold 1000+ eggs, I would wonder what tf I'm doing wrong compared to others for that to be necessary.
Its eggs, so in this case I think it reasonable 100 could be packed into a crate.

do you have like thousands of those animals? not experiencing any lag? indeed quite decent number, but still a lot more than anyone needs

I thought that maybe like 80-100 animals would be something a normal person would have, but not thousands

haven't seen any 8 minimap wheat field in the game so far

8 minimap field wheat field would fill more than 100 troughs of swill with one harvest, I don't think anyone has achieved this level of crazyness in the game

also 8 minimaps of wheat crop would provide 320 piles of straw

I'd be quite interested in seeing the coords of the village with 8 minimap wheat field if there is any (I'd be surprised if something like this existed in any of the worlds of HnH)

most of the bigger villages are even like 4-5 minimaps big counting everything they have, and crop fields often only take a minor part of the area

it is about 12 or so minimaps big, so quite rare and massive type of village, not many people build something as massive as this, and even this one has only 2 or 3 minimaps of crops for all species of non-trellis crops

now try to find a village bigger than this one in the whole hearthlands and tell me if it has 8 minimap wheat farm XD
