Tradeable item for low levels: Experience Boxes

Postby axus » Sat Feb 19, 2022 6:50 pm

It can be difficult for a new player to find anything valuable to a long established player, or even to contribute to their village. It seems like experience points are something that everybody could use and would trade for if they could. So my idea is a way to box experiences for trade.

Empty experience box would be simple to craft, something like block + beautiful dream. If you have empty experience box in your inventory or study report while experiencing an event, the event is stored in the box instead of being counted. Anybody opening the box would get the experience .

You came to the wrong forest, capsuleer. Warp back to Eve Online and see what LP-cans did to it.

Wether or not the box would be good for the game just adding something to the game as bandaid for a shitty economy is not the solution.

I think the economy is kinda alright if there are people who push their chars stats etc. I bought tons of meat/ ancient roots/ fairy shrooms while I was raising my stats.
After that I guess you just sell what you have left over. To maintain a character that is "done" you just need enough curios to feed authority to claims/ village and energy food, you need siege mats to defend yourself or siege other people = hard leather, bone glue, ropes, butter porridge. A good stock of that is what you need to safely afk I guess.
which is basically the only thing to do lategame because the game has no actual content except raising numbers. There is no pvp arena where you can just smash buttons for few hours a day, if you want to pvp you have to run around for hours and find people or siege them with annoyingly high effort to watch them move.
Pve makes 0 sense, more gildings though needles are worthless because combat stats are equalized (not a bad thing) and other stats don't matter at this point. Random pve has also no value except raising industry numbers again and is not fun. So you are left with afking.
Imagine the game had no qualities, then you would see the core of the game much better, you do everything once, steal a bit of steel, make gear, kill a few people and peace out. tbh a good gaming experience just not very long term. qualities just extend the play time artificially which is why it's tedious and everyone burns out and quits. They can raise a number in their calculator as well.
No exp box is gonna change that.
Alchemy is completely useless except for 2-3 wounds because stats are useless at a certain point. There is nothing to consume lategame. And there is nothing to do lategame that would need consumables.
Imo the solution is to make propper content for the game so people keep playing/ raise alts/ new players join and keep playing, this will make trading more active by default, also I'm not going to spend anything valuable at all to trade if there are world resets (tokens/hats).
It's way more complex than adding an exp box and there are a ton things that are fundamentally more important for the game than adding new stuff.
GL Jorb and loftar lmao

XP is already a saleable commodity. I sold a craplod of it world 12 for very premium prices. The method you suggested seems way less time effective than current methods.

I think you're going to run into the same problem you would with no buyers for character-progression related things as mentioned above, tho. Very few people who are rich/productive/competent are rly developing their characters actively beyond the 2/3 month mark
