I want to let my cows graze in green pastures in the evening, then let them back in when the night falls. Instead of feeding them some slug from trough like in some factory farm.

Grass should be buffed and larp pastures like this made feasible way to keep animals instead of botting 100x100 field of beetroots.

The idea is that cows graze grass instead of eating from trough.

They graze on grass if there is no trough in range. Then they die if the floor has no more grass.

Yes but its not very viable method of feeding them long term, it should be. Many cows only graze grass.

Why make stealing someone's cows more easy?
I think we should make this instead:
When someone has cows, they should only be able to live inside a player claim that is surrounded by at least a palisade, and if you are not the owner of the claim, you should not be able to attack the cows, milk them, feed them, etc.

Are you suggesting having grass affect quality of cattle as well? people would flood the server with free range organic cows if they didnt die off from eating only grass.
