Starving feedback

I've just died because I forgot I was starving. I was working and simultaneously playing the game: roaming cave for curios, killed some rats/bats and noticed that I was starving. By the time I got back home, I forgot about it. I went afk and switched to my IRL tasks. And only heard the death sounds.
Could you please make screen flickering red or something, so that it reminded you you're dying? As in real life when your are starving you always now that.

It would be neat if the game told you that, although a quick fix for you could be playing on one of custom clients, as far as i know you get a sound for the whole duration of starving & a notification.

I play on Ender, I've got only a message in the system chat about me being starved, thats it

I agree its pretty dumb that you can accidentally starve without noticing, only sign is bar of few pixels in screen corner.
Red tint would be cool probably not difficult to add as there are some cool effects already for consuming some products like opium.

Also, I have never died before of starvation in the game. I assumed that since I have non-zero energy level I won't die. It put me subconsciously into the "relief" bubble that nothing bad happens if I'm in safe place and due to non-zero energy level.

you are going to get HP loss below 2000 energy, the lower it falls below, the faster HP is lost

Noticed my energy was 2010% and remembered this thread.

I initially planned to request additional audiovisual feedback to simple *ping* and Energy bar changing color. However this could very easily result in situation similar that is lampooned in this video.

One possible change to make system more intuitive: instead of going from 0 to 10 000, Energy bar could go from -2000 to 8000.

1. Player would clearly see that they're about to hit zero energy and probably deduct this is a bad thing they need to adress.

2. Energy level being negative makes kind of sense since you're basically going into "Debt" that you pay through Starvation damage.

3. You can directly see the exact amount of Energy you can spend before hitting Starving (granted it's easy to just deduct two from the first number, but it'd still be a plus.)

Logged into an alt, didn't notice it was already starving (I did get the miniscule starvation message with a *ping* but it pings always due to custom feature to enable tracking upon logging in.)

Started scrolling through sessions to see if everything is alright before planning to go AFK, noticed yellow "99" above character's head (custom feature for tracking damage taken.)

Perhaps starvation should also give some movement penalty or other highly noticeable inconvenience, both to make it more obvious you're starving and to increase the urgency of addressing this problem. As advanced as Haven's wound system is, Starvation still presents a case of 'critical existence failure', going from 100% fine to death instantly out of nowhere.
