I have not been around and just started catching up on things and have been listening to the most recent dev talk that was for Christmas.
I just wanted to toss this out and see what people think.
What if HnH had a Karma mechanic, where if you attacked first and what is the karma of the player you are attacking(do they have good or bad karma).
With different levels of good/bad karma. And length it last until Neutral.
Also maybe visible things that show you what the player you interacting with is(showing there level of good or bad karma), maybe an aura or skull above them like RS.
This could spill out into all kinds of different things maybe there village has an aura or take more damage to walls and so on.
Just an idea.
Maybe having good karma lets you heal faster, regain stamina faster, if you die you get 5 percent more lp back, higher chance of finding pearls:).
Maybe bad levels are about how many times you do something but what it is like thieving. Was it a Knockout, was it a kill.
1st level of bad you become visible
2nd level of bad you loose a percent of stats not a lot but some.
3rd you become unable to hearth.
War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Bad Karma alts.

Tricking newbies into attacking you first (easy if you go on their claim, it lets them aggro without Rage.)

Two significant concerns I came up with in time it took me to read this thread.

Not a very good idea.
Promotes alts, discourages any kind of pvp mechanic on your main, forces you into being "good" to keep stats.
I think Karma as a mechanic can be very interesting, but only for enviromental effects.
Lets say you are a hunter, you killed and butchered hundred of animals.You karma alignment with animals gives you bonus quality on animals that you kill, but they fight more fiercely against you.
Inflicting more opening, runing faster, having boost on stats.
That kind of karma I could see working.

I mean having like a skull indicator would be cool, but those recommendations to changes like stats are bad. Why should having bad karma be punished? It's just a way some people play. I'd rather something not too op and not too punishing. Like if you're a peaceful guy you'd get more silk or farming etc, and for bad karma healing SHP faster etc so it fits your playstyle.

The idea has potential to be fun though, it just has potential to be cancer too, so I hope if it WOULD be implemented it wouldn't be dogshit.

Also, lets say someone gets KO'd/murdered and you decide to get revenge and get his stuff back for him. Well now you need to siege the offenders pali, KO/Kill him and his alts/villagers/steal back the your friends stuff, ALL at your expense (since "karma" views crimes=bad) for trying to be the good guy.

However something visual for committing crimes could be cool I suppose, but that's all.

90% of players dont think so.
alot of ppl plays in survival MMO, time eater idle game, casual role play.
here plays 50+ old ppl, lovers, dads with daughters...
and 10-20 retarded players YELLLs "we are PvP gods, its PvP game". and harassing 90% of players base
