""Primitive"" Tent is Not Primitive

As it stands the pricetag definitely puts it far out of the reach of your target demographic. To encourage a relatively nomadic beginning lifestyle you definitely aren't going to spring for the 96 sheep shearing wool to make your tent. I think the primitive tent should have a truly primitive alternative requiring hides, leather, maybe some strings and boughs, whatever people would actually have before their infrastructure. Rename the current "primitive tent" to being a "Campaign Tent" or "Nomad's Tent" or otherwise.

I cannot enjoy this feature as it stands because I literally have to choose between snekkja or tent, and that is not a hard weigh-in. By the time they're "Cheap" and "Trivial" they're larp-fuel at best or easily replaced by a permanent house at worst.

I'm supportive of adding more things for nomads, but this primitive tent ain't it.

I would love this as an alternative-ish thing to cavebases.

Je. Just make it out of hides, fit in the capeslot, and require one felled treetrunk or an amount of wood setting it up .

+1 Vigilance, you took the words right out of my mouth. What even is the point of a tent that noone will ever make because of its requirements? It should not need cloth and it should not need hide as generally the people who would ever use such a tent wouldn't have either of those things. Strings or boughs makes the most sense.
Extremely popular.

I envision the primitive tent as a sort of upgraded, portable leantoo. It should only require dried hides, require trespassing to enter, theft/vandalism to interact with objects inside, and be a liftable object that can be "Pitched" or "Unpitched" to change between its liftable and housing forms. It would be nice to carry around in a rowboat or cart for some temporary security while out foraging or hunting when there's no Snekkja available. The early/mid-game nomad could then carry around a cart with his rowboat and tent in tow, pithing the tent and place the cart inside whenever it's time to temporarily set up camp.

my idea of a primitive structure it's something that requires common things you can find in the forest easily like fir boughs tree bark and bark string

if it requires sheep or even the drying of animal hides its not primitive enough you need a place to protect stuff early game you cannot really protect drying racks without a claim in a palisade it's a miracle most people even make it that far without being griefed

that's why a lot of people shelter in caves

I think you should be able to make leather inside it and dry hides inside it in small amounts you can make it take longer for balance

For super-primitive stuff the leanto already exists. I imagine a primitive tent would at least require hides.

That's only at the very start of the world. Once you're two weeks in barely anybody cares anymore about your drying q5 hides.
