WTB offline version

Postby fedor77 » Sun Aug 21, 2022 10:15 pm

I already know what im gonna get from posting this but i will do it anyways.

I am really trying and failing, i spent the whole week going around doing things, working on my house and all that, said hi to my neighbors and now they are all gone, trying to start conversations when i rarely see someone but they just avoid me, i dont know if out of fear or because they are plotting something.

Today i got shot by someone inside my own terrain from outside and lost half my health in one hit, i dont even understand how combat works.

That has been the sum of my multiplayer experience so far, i cant interact with anyone and at some point someone who is just gonna end everything.

I like the game, bulding things, going around exploring and cheesing animals to death and all that, dont really care about the meta stuff.

I would love to pay for a offline version of the game.

You need to go join a village if you aren't finding success as a hermit..

yeah the game is super harsh if you dont have a bit of experience or someone to hold your hand through the steep learning curve.

I wish i could understand combat better, how someone was able to throw something at me from outside my claim while i was inside and hit me for half of my health. Can i even retaliate if i dont have the Rage skill?

Time played word of mouth digging through forums and watching vids is mostly how its done. Even information is valuable in this game so its guarded.

It's not the claim itself that stops someone throwing or shooting at you; it is walls. Once you have walls, players can still shoot through open gates.

Just download a minecraft modpack. Nomifactory can be played in peaceful, or project ozone 3.

Clearly Jorb and Loftar enjoy them and admire the efforts of these creators, you know tinker and so on. Might as well go that way and avoid the poisonous PvP INTERACTIONS that have ultimately doomed this project.

I often wonder if Snail will be the Carver of this project. Imagine a blank page, what might be done if the windmills of object controlled whatever were well behind us.

The passion might spark anew...

There has -never- been a successful laissez-faire PvP MMO. It gives the skilled and experienced simply too much power to destroy new or casual players, and without them there is never enough critical mass to sustain the game. PvP is great in low-stakes environments like WoW, MOBA, or FPS.

I think of it like the dicks-assholes-pussies analogy in Team America World Police. The world needs pussies and dicks. After a couple months in a Haven world, it's usually just assholes and dicks with nothing to fuck.
