Make axes great again

I was enjoying the early game where the best weapon was a 1h tinkerers axe and a shield.
While I don't consider this good, I liked experimenting with the ravens bite build, but now that I have a bronze sword, axes are once more useless relics. This means that thing I liked can no longer exist past early game.
I don't wanna use a b12 either because 20% cd is ass in actual pvp besides group gangbangs, where the b12 guy is only there to try to gib someone who is already helpless to resist, and because I like shields! make 1h war axes on par with swords!
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

would need an axe that dosnt count as an axe for crafting then, otherwise convienience would beat out swordusage on non pure fighters,
also i though throwingaxes are an neat idea, but as the game progresses ranged weapons become increasingly useless, and axes and spears breaking on every second ptarmigan sucks balls,
