Mammoths Are Easy

Is it intended for mammoths to be exceedingly easy?

One log on the top of a cliff and I can block its snot. If I attack between snot attempts it won't hit me. Even if it does hit me, it does not matter since it never lowers its openings. Like at all. I can sit there and lower mine and get back to business. Bears at least lower their openings when you sit there gaining IP on them. Mammoth is like, oh you opknocked me 3 times and I'm at 100% opening, hurr durr let me just sit here spitting. Cleave or sting, it flees, reaggro, cleave or sting, occasional opknock to keep him on high openings, rinse and repeat until dead.

If this is intended, so be it, but I find it highly strange that it won't lower its openings even a smidge.

I have more thoughts on the nonsense palisade trap method to kill them but even that would be less of a cakewalk if the mammoth was lowering its openings. Or had a ranged opening attack like the bear.

There is a binary with all brainless trash PvE content in video games, it's either retarded easy (because it's a brainless computer) or genuinely not doable (because it's a computer and it's cheating/reduced to math).

You cannot create a challenge in a video game that doesn't amount to some kind of puzzle for toddlers. The greatest examples of PvE content in gaming are MMOs, which are literally just dance dance revolution and putting the blue square into the blue, square shaped hole.

What is your solution? Make it not stop running? Make it keep reducing its openings so it becomes an impossible equation? What do you people actually want? It's a video game and a resource to be farmed, not a story to tell.

The thing is - if they "fix" pve you will probably be the first who start topic with reversed name. There is no easy solution how to fix this mess - ai is brain dead, and game is exploit simulator.

There is a distinction between the mammoth cheese and most other animals since they are not lowering their openings. Cheese is part of the game, intended to a degree even. Them never lowering openings feels like a bug, its just dumb.

Because inconvenience, and there's no reason for them to remove it either

no one has made an op's mama is an easy mammoth joke yet?

There is some tech up to mammoths at least so it feels like the middle ages ish where a group of whily monkeys are able to take down prey using cunning. just because you are capable of it doesnt mean the average joe is doing it, pve content is like that saying about bears trashcans and idiot tourists.

I like the distinction, personally. It adds variety to the cheese if each shitty AI has a different reason for being shitty. Cheese is just a strategy anyway. It's not much different from preparing the perfect combat deck and stats to fight fairly other than being a bit meta/4th-wall breaking.
