Currently scythe has no weapon damage, armor pen, range, etc - its not counted as a weapon

even pickaxe is counted as a weapon and has weapon stats

I was wondering about the concept of turning every holdable item in game into an "improvised weapon" with low but non-zero stats so melee decks can do something if they're caught with weird stuff in their hands. Probably a penalty to attack speed, maybe divided into "no edge, point, heavy edge" for the different cards?

Making the pickaxe a weapon pretty godsend for sure, but I guess mining's special.

Real harvesting scythes can't actually be used to fight. I don't know if you have ever held one, but I have. There is only one way you can use it to attack, and that's to swipe someone's ankle in a predictable and easily counterable manner in one direction, and one direction only... by then you''ll realize that you'd be better off dropping the unwieldy thing and using your fists. If anything, you should feel lucky it doesn't reduce your damage dealt by merely holding it.

You know the stereotypical "angry villager mob" slogan, "Grab yer torches and pitchforks?" Well... they don't say grab your torches and scythes for a very very good reason.

There is such thing as a war scythe, but it's nothing like a wheat scythe. The difference between them is like comparing a stick and a gun. Although in the case of the scythe, you'd be better off with a stick, afterall, it could actually be used to fight.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Bucket and shovel - blunt weapons! A bucket filled with slop from an animal feeder deals poison damage (charisma-)!

Completely needless. Would just be one more item with useless stats, like some other weapons already are.

Pickaxe as weapon has most likely been added to help miners deal with slimes and such...

Add the chance to pull up giant moles or animated crops when harvesting, then we can talk about scythe as a weapon.
