Pickles/Fermentation

Postby BikiniViking » Fri Sep 16, 2022 6:28 pm

Finally grew my first cucumber and got super excited about the prospect of pickles until I learned there was no such thing.

I think it'd be rad to make some pickles.

Basic recipes could be similar to:
cucumber+dill+vinegar = pickles
carrot+dill+vinegar = pickled carrot
(any) egg+ dill+ vinegar = pickled egg

These could then be placed into a cauldron or perhaps a clay jar for a time to "ferment"

Ofc, pickles could be implemented into lots of great food items like burgers, wacky soups, salads, etc. in the future.

I could also see this expanding into other fermentation ideas in the future for items like sauerkraut or kimchi if the addition of cabbage was added (would also love), or even kefir with milk.

More uses for clay jars, +1
Could also see glass jars doubling fep for pickled stuff or something

Yeah I'd like to see a smoking analogue for vegetables
