make bat-cape non-breakable so you don't need to unequip before every pve

The armor is an intentional negative to balance it with the other capes which otherwise require cloth.

it's armor is irrelevant and breaks fast

the main use it's avoiding bat annoyance

just make more batcapes. its an temporary equipment, like borewormmasks and badgerwwests, also, you arent suposed to wear it for all the game, its an crutch for people that cant take on bats, and earlygame living in caves, later on i cant be bothered anyway to take off my cape/helmet, and block inventory slots on my miner . its just an shame batdungeon buff is barred from anyone besides maybe 5%of players, and aside from the buff is so unlucrative that you have to find an group who bother with them after the first anyway

i know its a long shot, but since pvp nerfed coracle, sled, horses, bows... I thought maybe batcapes could be more practical for pve... granted, pvp has priority on these nerfing matters

If bat capes had no armor, you'd just make one with 3 or 4 gildings and never bother making a cloth cape. The armor is not irrelevant. It's there to make the bat cape worse so you have a reason to upgrade to a better cape that won't break on you.

idk, there's still gilding % chance and gilding attributes to match, and item popularity is probably not important since most items are not popular

ye. but the thing why no capes are being worn is simply that you either wear an batcape, or hussars wings. only miners run around with bearcapes.

in 9/10 cases you take an armourslot over an normal cape, and the one case is if you got such an ungodly lucky q300 herminecape that its too valuable to wear it outside.
