By the time you fully configure and 'break' a new windows machine to actually function like it's supposed to, the computer is no longer "new", it's something you've had "for a while".

Actually it is. I think he got it just so he could get on Haven with me. Any suggestions on how to break it in?

Well, that is the first option I had planned, but barring that, I'm still looking for other ideas.

I found a guide a few months back when I did my mother's PC, it helped me shut down all the bullshit and re-activate the stuff that requires registry dickery. Think I could find that same guide again for the laptop I bought? Lmao, not on the nu-internet.

Bitching and griping aside, I'm afraid that when it comes to Haven, if Java is working, haven works. The only time haven has acted up for me has been when java was acting up, causing other shit like minecraft to act up as well.
So that's the first step. Confirm java functionality. Once that is for sure not the problem, move on to graphics card drivers. If that still seems to throw off some kind of issue, collect all the error logs you can and dump 'em here, someone will be able to make heads or tails of it.
