Herder Credo Change

Currently the herder credo buffs only apply (or so it seems) if the person with the credo is the one to do the branding, you can't just craft a branding iron and share it about.

I propose that's changed so its the branding iron itself that applies the buff if its attuned to somebody with the credo.

The credo is an absolute pain to get to, especially if you have unlocked literally anything else with the way credo quest count scales. Its current version incentivises bots honestly.

Theres probably better suggestions to be made, but idk. I'm only logging in now to check on scholar progress (i'm currently 70 days into scholar, this is far too long for a credo). I was making an alt to try and get the herder credo but honestly, Nomad is so beyond boring to do, I can't actually be bothered because the only thing left for me to do this world now is grind. idk, next world i'll likely make a bot to herd animals and just share an account with my group to get herder on it early rather than having certain people maintaining animals because nobody can be bothered with that monstrosity of a task anymore.

Herder's easy tits to get if you prep. Of the quests you take you get:

1/2 nomad, some with animal (you've done nomad, so you have all the TWs and just use them to drag the animals to the destination)
1/2 slaughter quests which you should be prepared for by saving animals as you breed pre-herder

The average herder quest took me ~30 minutes because I made sure to grab TWs while nomading.

"I shouldn't need to make an alt account for herder in my village" basically goes against the concept of player specialization. Alts will exist for account shared specializations, that's not an argument to remove specialization from the game imo. Some mechanics are worth keeping even if they can get cheesed by players who understand them.

Besides, people don't burn out because of herder. People burn out on animals partly because animals are slow enough that you burn out on the actual game before they become relevant, partly because we've all been doing it wrong and putting in way too much effort for the return. This sounds like "I'm burnt out", you're months late on herder anyway. I think it's perfectly reasonable to not worry about it. Yeah, it reduces food costs a bit. But the extra work from more babies outweighs the food cost imo.

Besides: branding iron conveying the benefits = a single person gets herder in the whole world and sells the branding irons to everyone.

We already have people who have herder etc for months. This is merely an observation from myself trying to find reasons to get back into the world after taking a bit of a break.

The only things left for me to do is to progress credos, right now on my main i'm 70 days into scholar which is far too long for any credo and doing the idea of doing herder's boring quests at 12 quests per level makes me think i'd rather just delete the game.

You're absolutely right that i'm burnt out from the game and i'm basically trying to find reasons to continue playing that aren't too much of a chore, sadly, most of the game is. As for specialization, no, all the current system incentivises is a single bot for the village.

As for "one person in world", tie it to the village then, if the player attuned to the iron is in the same village as you, let is share the buff. easy solution.

I just don't understand why you are hard negative on every single post I make instead of even considering building on any ideas its just a hard "no because" rather than "what about this?".

I have no problem with fisherman actually. But continue to be toxic and add nothing to the conversation by all means.

For what its worth, I still think a change to allow a village to use the branding iron of one person with herder is the way forward for this credo since its so vital to get it early world.

Its current form incentivises account sharing and botting.

Would be nice to see the change made before the next world starts, though I likely won't play next world at the current pace of things.
