The prevalance of Merchant's Cloak

Postby Kyrex » Sun Feb 12, 2023 11:56 pm

Currently, there's generally no better option than the merchant's cloak, for most purposes.
Having the additional inventory line is huge.

As soon as one has one, one tends not to bother with other cloaks.

I happily continue to wear my plain capes, but plain tabards, unless briefly for aesthetics, are useless.

There's little reason to wear other cloaks in many circumstances, it has a buff that can't be matched.
Most other items can have their qualities be matched or similar.

I'd request that the merchant's cloak buff either be added to other cloaks, added to a gild of somekind, or, failing that, as evil as it is to say, changing the buff to an extra pocket or three might also work.

there are like 70 different "thing in a bucket" graphics and it took jorb over a year to upgrade like 10 or less of them to the new and improved very high quality excellent 4k graphic version

asking for anything that would require a reskin/redraw of multiple items is just a death sentence to actual game progress

that being said, I agree

the most important thing that this game needs right now and the thing that would solve all of our problems is blue linen pants

Edited.
Since posting I've been convinced somewhat by others, of the potential of not just having max inventory, and I've just been not liking the aesthetic (vain, I know) of the merchant's cloak so I haven't been wearing it as much.

But my point still well, and truely, stands.

Yeah, people also often use cloak that better suits their gilds to stack into, to minmax bonuses
Anyway It will be good to see other cloaks that gives +1 row inventory size, gilds for other stats and costs more than it.

To piggyback off the OP I've always been of the mindset that clothing with the same name type should come with set bonuses. "Merchants" should have additional and beneficial bonus based on how many pieces you have equipped.

Same for;
Hirdsman
Ranger
Druid
Hunter
and any assorted animal specific clothing
