Well tough luck, since when dev asked about it in the stream all the mouth breathers jumped on the occasion to tell them to make a bigger world.

Only 3.5 sweaty tryhards want smaller world. With smaller world game will lose all of its appeal, absolute majority wants bigger understandably.

But I will get destroyed before I can build a ship!

I remember that GIANT world the devs made once. It was awful. People complain about having to deal with neighbors but that is where the energy of the game comes from. Pure PvE grind gets old very fast.

I think it should be the same size or slightly (maybe 25%) larger :^)

@jorb

when you make the world smaller remember the inverse square law

small adjustments can be quite large

I think it's worth a try, even if just to find out if it really is a bad idea. We've had clearly too large worlds before, but have we ever had world before that was clearly too small? I think the fear of small worlds comes purely from speculation, which isn't always right. It's like how many new players dread losing all their progress at a world reset, but once you've actually tried it it turns out losing everything actually makes things a lot more fun.
