Why is there no lava on -1 near volcano?

If it isn't going to travel all the way down it should be like the deep ocean and not be able to mine directly under it?

Maybe make a bedrock barrier around it or something that you can't mine through, so it's not accessible.

Maybe the area around the bedrock can be more ore saturated? Or maybe within 50 tiles of bedrock, ore has a chance to be mined as a bar instead. 2% chance with the mining credo giving a bonus 3%
