Cavedust Smoke Bomb

Crafted from cave dust, rocks, and maybe brimstone or something?

Consumable item, allows you to throw it on the ground and instantly be transported back to the nearest cave exit. Only usable underground.

Maybe it could have a substantial stamina drain or something, decreased by the quality of the item.

Probably not usable in combat.

Does not transport carried/pulled items like carts, barrels, chests.

Does not transport animals like horses, leashed animals, etc.

Just you and whatever you've got in your bag.

More uses for brimstone would be nice, though this idea seems resource-heavy for Discount Hearthing

Here I thought the idea was going to be something like "throw smoke bomb to lose aggro from animal - escape tactics". Either way it's still a cool idea.

Hearthing brings you back to base.

This brings you back to the closest cave entrance.

In a whole lot of scenarios, those are two very, very different things.

I wholeheartedly support anything to help drop animal aggro. Except stuff like "just pay 5000 experience points, mon."

TBH, existence of that magic is a net positive to the game - I would happily use it on a troll* or mammoth that would otherwise certainly kill my main character who is one quest short of finishing Wandering Sage, for example.

*note: I can't verify if you can actually use Quell the beast" on a troll.

havent used quell the beast in many worlds, infact i only ever used it on accident because my interface was blinking green,
but thank god hunter makes it cheaper, cant think of any better buffs in an creedo that gives you 3 benefits that become obsolete the moment you find bromze

I like the idea, but rather than the closest cave exit, I'd say it should teleport you back to the one you entered from.

This way you avoid people using it to teleport inside claims or in general to cave exits that are otherwise blocked (palisade or otherwise).

Completely fair punishment for:
A) not lowering my SHP to 1
B) not spending 5000 experience points
