It's ok guys I already quit this jank-ass game. Raw hide used to be a bigger issue for me because gameplay-wise it just sucks for everyone involved buuuut then I learned much more about people openly botting/scripting and doing all kinds of stupid shit that other games would never allow for the sake of balance lol. Why waste my time trying to keep up with a curve that is simply impossible, and how can the devs balance for a single player doing things normally vs a single player using 50 alts to do everything at once with all the benefits of custom client QOL? I had my two weeks of fun with the game and it was all around a very 'meh' experience.

i'm gonna giddy on up to another game =)

If random rawhide from some bozo made you that assblasted I hope you live in somewhere isolated place, as after seeing some stuff that "that people" use, there will be no survivors in miles around.

How about we apply some of the "Murderous Rage" -design into the Rawhide? To get rid of the issue of script pressing the rawhide immediately on range and such.

You use literal "raw hide" (fresh/bloody hide of wild or tamed horse) to apply a ritual into a Hearthling and it lasts X amount of time (at least an hour I guess.) During this time, any horse within certain range of the "rawhided" Hearthling will be affected by a one minute debuff (refreshed constantly if within range) that restricts them into player crawl speed, indicated by some kind of pose on the horse.

Assuming you can't apply the ritual too fast, this should theoretically be an opt-out of horses for PvP battle that you can force on other players.

I'd just make raw hide! insanely expensive. Or remove the skill from the game entirely.
Or then let us raw hide! sneks and sleds as well. Because why not?

At least nerf it, instead of the 5 second "sleep", make it 1 second and have a horse who took it be protected from any further raw hide! for 10 minutes.

The people getting fucked by raw hide are getting fucked either way and just deciding to dump all of their blame on the most recognizable mistake they made.

That said, from a PVP perspective the stun is not very important. If the stun were removed but the horse got even more fucked at a longer range it'd prolly be better for everybody. Horse whisper counter-acts most of what rawhide does, it's just expensive until you have a realm/questing network/good horses.

Taming and using horses to get a speed boost shouldn't be a mistake.
Being more vulnerable on a horse than on foot makes no sense at all. Especially for the mere cost of 500 XP, if stunning any rider around for 5s has to be a thing it should be worth at least 2k per rider.

Again, if you get penalized for using horses, why can't people use some rawhide-like skill on snekkjas? or sleds?
At least the game should be balanced in every aspect. And if using a vehicle is a "mistake" potentially leading to getting spanked, then all vehicles should suffer it as well.

I wholeheartedly agree. A snekkja/sled/ski/knarr/horse/rowboat/coracle/dugout being involved in every fight is big huge gay. Everybody prefers fighting on foot in mostly 3rd speed terrain, but sadly the mechanics usually make that not the case.

That is an important new player perspective on the matter. How is someone supposed to know that if they're on horseback and they make the slightest minimap detection of another player, they have to choose between A) immediately fleeing away from them at high speed B) immediately dismounting and running at 3rd speed to turn it into a foot chase. B is relevant in case you assume you're being ganked by people who can horse 4th speed to within "Raw hide!" range and stun you.

Even worse, here's a perfectly rational response from logical human being who doesn't know Raw Hide! exists:
I'm on horseback, they're on foot. I can go interact them, as long as I keep some distance I can just flee much faster if they're host- wtf is my horse doing?

"Stardew Valley Online" and "Lord of the Flies Simulator" -aspects of the game not meshing well, many such cases.
