Don't blame the devs. Mods ban this guy, he is hostile towards Jorbtar

Losing your village/settlement just because you didn't know about the bond mechanic is way worse than getting a character killed. Noobs must pay the price!

If someone is studying the bond just have the eyes of claim glow with fire.
Leave it cryptic, leave it loot-able.

That would be a massive improvement.

However I still hold that "study the claim bond to gain ownership of the claim" was clearly designed for consensual transferal of the claims, and devs for some reason just decided to kick in their heels and refuse to change anything when it become common and recurring problem that people kept having their bonds stolen and not realizing anything was wrong until someone else already had full ownership of their base.

Why not make 4 slots for claims on any given character specifically for claims that cannot be stolen from and additional claims can be placed in the study area just like the current system? I honestly dont see why they haven't done somthing about this yet, there are countless ways to, at the very least, warn someone that their claim bond got yoinked.

I expect nothing to change tho :D

Take a page from the Village handbook.
Add a "renounce ownership" key on the claim, allowing anyone to click on it and take ownership.
No items needed, easy peasy.

just make a "renew your bond" quest akin to the "bury your body" quest if your bond is taken/put in someone else's study, at least for the first time
