With the fledgeling trolls there perhaps being weaker than regular trolls so that more people can experience it.

I think Mammoth dungeon that has terrain which can't be built on would be the true endgame of PvE .

The Mammoth King rides a sperm whale.

Most of what makes a troll difficult is the cave-in mechanic. I am not sure how great it would be with multiple trolls and hitboxes to collide.

And defeating 'em starts world ending timer. The true endgame PvE.
