More Descriptive/directed player tutorial

Add more to the pre burning in tutorial. People take for granted what, they have learned over the many years of experience.

Maybe use this topic to make a list of "things I'd wish have known before I burned in"

The tutorial also need to have pop up text that tells you specifically how things you are being asked to do are to be done. Like the pop up telling go left to make a female character, or right to make a Male one. Add another pop up that says "Go to the pond to select a a shitty hair/beard style and colour."

Another that says "right click the tree and select branch" when you collect a branch another pop up that says "congratulations you have made a discovery, no here's what that means and what happens" basically take the started quest and give them pop-ups that explain in more detail. But also give a way to opt out for those who know already.

I would also add an important part is to make a person fight an animal and lose and explain KO vs death. So it's very clear of the danger. And how it effects you. I know it's written in the game description but people aint going yo read it and understsnd what it means untill they experience it in a controled environment.

The lack of this type of guided new player tutorial is going to be the number one negative review

Things I think should be explained better:
Discovery
How to craft
Attributes and how you get them FEP
Abilities and how you get them LP
Skills and how you gain them
Kith and kin menu
Energy
Hunger
Basic combat
KO and Death

And add a gosh darn link to the wiki

Expanding the tutorial should have a mandatory sling portion. new players need to know to chuck rocks at wee animals

Fishing took me way longer than it should have to figure it out. Although it was pretty satisfying once I got it all working.

Dragging actions from the bottom right onto the hotkeys also took forever to realize, one of my neighbors had to inform me of that one.

Death and inheritance needs more blatant explanation (preferably on the death screen) so people don't quit as soon as they die

Pardon me if there already is

I agree. Haven has a very high entry barrier. I managed to get a few friends into the game, but they quickly gave up—not because they didn't like the game, but because it was too confusing. Searching for every bit of information on the wiki was too exhausting. They didn't understand that besides collecting sticks, stones, and clay from the river, there is a ton of other content that isn't immediately obvious.

For sure, this game is in a real need of ingame tutorials, which is one of the main reasons i advised against a steam release so soon. There is literally nothing to guide you towards a personal claim (not to mention knowing how it works), there is nothing to guide you towards palisade, nothing to guide you to how the combat actually works. I honestly think the game will get a lot worse reviews just because of this fact. How many games do you launch nowadays and there is basically no tutorial or nothin. And I don't mean just a basic tutorial on all the basic stuff and then go explore, most games have TOO much tutorials. In the case of hafen it's literally the opposite. And people will come into the game (there is no link to the forums, the wiki, or even the official discord) and be lost, they'll do the starter tutorials, maybe setup a camp, and someone will come and yoink their stuff with 0 recourse because they don't even have a claim (how do you naturally learn about the claim system ingame? Learn random skills until you hit yeomanry and then try making one randomly?).

On the forums and the discord there are useful guides (like the claim safety guide) pinned so at least there is that, but people first need to get here.
