Fix Credo's already ffs...

Postby Nocturnal-Rainbows » Tue Oct 08, 2024 3:58 pm

For the love of God fix Credos by not having them ramp up in how many quests you need to complete based on how many previous Credos you've already completed. That is the dumbest shit ever and I won't stop posting about how awful that way of doing things is. It is pure tedium. It is yet another dumb idea which basically forces you to use alts. It's begs for alt usage, actually.

Use a fucking tier system. It's so simple.
Same exact requirements to be able to start a Credo, regardless of what tier they are (So Nomad still can't be taken without you completing Fishing, Foraging and Hunting and Farmer can't be taken without you completing Foraging etc etc) but no ramping quest dogshit outside of the ramp up which is decided by what tier the Credo is at.
Let me show you what I mean :

Tier 1 (Takes 10 quests to complete any of these Credos, regardless of when you take them or how many other Credos you've already completed, they will ALWAYS need just 10 quests completed) -
Fishing, Foraging, Hunting, Farming, Quarryman, Lumberjack

Tier 2 (Takes 20 quests to complete)
Mystic, Gem hunter, Miner, Gardener, Potter, Tailor, Cook

Tier 3 (Takes 30 quests to complete)
Nomad, Pearl Diver, Scholar, Strider, Cave Hermit, Blacksmith, Wandering Sage, Herder

Tada, the Credo system is now (almost) fixed in its entirety. The only annoying thing left about them would be those few random bullshit quests which are insta-abandons but THIS right here fixes the main annoyance.
I fucking hate Credo's so much and it's all because of the way they ramp up. Just do this change and everybody will love you for it.

I'd rather have credos not require questing, or at least not require RNG objectives for each quest. Maybe some predefined quest chain at least, so everybody has the same quests to complete for each credo. No more abandoning quests this way.

Or a full revamp of what credos are.

Decent idea to make credos divided into tier that would define their difficulty.

Although I would put only Fisherman, Forager and Hunter to Tier 1 as "basic" credos, due to other requiring them in the first place.

Progress bar with milestones replacing the current Credo levels. Multiple objectives (that reward potentially variable amount of points), and restock as old ones are completed. Rerolling (without losing progress) possible, but it has a cooldown?

I'm a fan of credos as they are, in small doses. Even though I'm a fan, I could certainly see them being annoying to do every 6 months.

I'd suggesting lowering the starter number of quests per tier from 2 to 1, making getting at least a few of them done substantially easier but keeping it hard to do a ton.

I did nomad like 4 times, and 2 of them I had such lucky rolls I genuinely thought jorb or loftar flagged my account for EZ quests.

Ye, I think it might be true in fact. I got no exp events for straight atleast a month and had to quit the game because I was at 0 for a while, mainly my suspicions were on jorb for flagging my account for a shitpost I made previously on forums or I just got simply VERY bad luck which I had never experienced in the game before to such a degree, be careful out there

My point was that this RNG is obnoxiously unfair, no matter if I'm on the lucky side or not.

while it is 100% true that the rng is unfair. predetermined quests would just end up in people collecting whatever you need in a cupboard and then speedquesting countless alts through it.
