Sheet music

Let us craft sheet music. Right clicking the fresh sheet allows you to transcribe chords somehow onto the sheet. When holding on cursor and right clicked onto your equipped instrument it plays whatever song is transcribed onto it automatically. Music skill unlocks the recipe.

I don't mess with instruments because of the lag and amount of effort it would take for me to get used to playing them. it would be fun once in a while if I could just play them automatically like most games with instruments

I'd like to expand on your suggestion and suggest a "Jam" option.

Basically, while holding an instrument, invite someone to sync with your music sheet, basically forming a small band. Whoever invites first gets to be the leader of the band. Allow the band leader to choose sheets for all the band members and start playing.

I'd love to write music sheets and sell them in game. Maybe host a concert of some sorts.

In any case, improvements to music are cool things to hope for.

Honestly i like this idea specifically because they could add a separate page in your character sheet for memorized musicks and only the creator can copy his own composed music to a sheet, and each sheet can only be read once, allowing you to sell complex music for a good price without fear of counterfeiting.
Total misplay.

Yeah, it's similar to how Starbound pulled it off. If someone starting playing the same song near another player, it automatically syncs up. So you could have multiple people playing the same song with different instruments.

They solved the latency issue by just making the songs play/sync midi client side if you're nearby. Songs could be imported from other mmos with a similar instrument system like Lord of the rings online because they're a common file format

First, basic game music would be nice.
There are games that I run just to get the ambiance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6B2Aqo6 ... F&index=12
H&H had that in early worlds. Loftar killed it. :(

And yes, characters playing music in sync would be awesome. That reminds me of a FPS video where people can play music together.

Also chords would be awesome (for now one can play only one note at a time).
