Why is Zigzag the only good red defensive?

Postby it-Tato » Tue Dec 03, 2024 11:12 pm

Lemme preface this with I could easily be missing something bc I have only played since Steam launch but legit the other red defensives seem so trash it's laughable.

Flex doesn't even feel worth it to put on your bar bc you gotta be in kissing distance

Artful Evasion just feels like it holds you over til you get Zigzag. It is pretty mid in general but better than no red defensive at all ig.

Yield ground is the biggest joke here I feel, I am trying to drop red so my head doesn't get cleaved off but I am giving myself blue for cleave and yellow for full circle? Why?

Gimme some tips or something if I am missing something but legit I just don't understand at all where these 3 abilities stand except in the garbage.

same reason sidestep and quick dodge are the best blue and green defence moves

+1

currently you have a system where you cant defend yourself at all unless you get zigzag which u get from aurochs and boars mainly so every moderately new player is essentially defenceless for no good reason

at the start of the world I got flex and thought it might be good enough but no, its not, literally only zigzag is viable, u cant pvp without it

It's really funny how the best option to deal with red opening if you don't have zig-zag is run away and leave.

That would be non-invasive way to improve the current combat system without significant rework/balance change, +1

More mobs without armor, before it gets added to things like troll, boreworm, bear or whatever

Or simply remove screwed maneuvers and add a red defense like Quick Dodge, Sidestep and Jump, unlocked at start of the game.

This is jorbtar's idea of balance
Red has
- the best IP generator (qb)
- the best opener (kito)
- the strongest finisher (cleave)
- the cheapest finisher (fc)
and to top it off, the only way to reduce it is to give your opponent IP
Yes, it's perfectly balanced.
Before calling me a shitter, compare kito and kick.
