Direct chopping/sawing into stockpiles

Title says it, would be neat if we could just have a stockpile next to us and while we chop, it would go in there directly instead of chopping up a log, then collect > place in pile and so on. Kinda how you can directly stuff flour/wort/mead in barrels directly. I know the interaction is different, because one is a container and the other is a stockpile, but still.

Any thoughts?

We can pluck feathers directly into stockpiles, we can now craft FROM stockpiles, why can't we go the other way?

Tbh I imagine it's because something there is a coding nightmare. But yeah. Feathers can do it (although can you pluck feathers from a bird in a container directly into a stockpile?), what's the difference between a ton of feathers and a ton of wood?

It's because what you're seeing isn't how the code works. We see "interact with item on ground, we can interact with other items around it". But the code sees starting to chop as an "interrupting" action. And because it's also not sitting still on an open stockpile, trying to open a stockpile after doesn't work either since opening something while taking an action interrupts it.

Entirely depends how loftar coded this as to how hard it is to do. But lets be realistic here, this is better suited to farming area plant treatment and make it a simplistic botting action.
