Cheaper Coinpress

Make building coinpress require soft metal, blocks and boards.
This way everyone can have their own currency and you don't need to rely on big markets with unified currency printing out lead coins to buy out all the good stuff.
We will also have the ability to make markets way earlier as currently you need steel to make a coinpress.
This is an unnecessary timegate that locks away content that should be available week 1.

Agree, it seems that coin press got unintentionally timegated with changes of that world.

Make it hard metal and it's fine, no one's making a market week 1. Just not any of the iron products.

Agree, coinpress is NOT a thing that changes the world in term of gameplay, it should be a lot easier to make. We should be able to make soft metal coins wih simple clay moulds, and also it's still possible to make a market week one, just estabilish bartering prices instead of coin usage: first week it's possible to trade with strings and they will be more useful than coins XD.

I don't see why not.
Theres plenty non metal things that are valuable these days you can trade early on.
I also don't really see a reason to lock it behind hard metal. Theres no negative effects of everyone being able to press their coins early.

Why would you want to press your own coins? So you can buy from yourself? I don't think there's a large enough playerbase to maintain any economy with hundreds of local markets.
But IDK maybe, sounds fun I guess

the point for the coins is to have a non-replicable currency that can be bartered for a lot easier, wich sadly is needed in a game where people meet at different times and cannot just run here and there hundreds of times to just try and barter what they have with what is requested for bartering.

Barter in theory is nice, except a barter stand does NOT just barter stuff, it asks exactly one thing, and proposes one thing.
