A peaceful mode...

Postby Edepha » Sat Dec 14, 2024 5:36 am

It would be nice to see a peaceful mode implemented for those of us who enjoy the game except for the pesky time when someone shows up and kills you. I know that's part of the game but I would be more likely to invest real world money if I didn't dread my character being slaughtered and robbed. I'm more of a peaceful player. Even a second server to allow for non PVP would be an option. :?:

No, asked a million times and the answer is no.
Devs dont want it.
People will tell you such a world would be griefed without any recourse, but I think it would be very rare considering the griefer audience wouldn't play such server in the first place.
But no, asked every weeeks and the answer is no

In my experience PVPbois are not much more likely to be spiteful assholes than random LARPers who hate PVP. You ever met JubJub? Orca? Lunarious? Kaios? I've witnessed pre-rageLARP wars between random groups that don't PVP just dropping each other's dirt during terraforming for hours straight.

for once, i can confirm snails post here.
been in many pre rage alterations with other spuces back in the day.
the solution was to skill rage, and kill them, before that you had 8 hour timers to destroy claims and debuild palisades.

i spend an entire day. renaturizing a village before the pali dried.

I once had this awesome pre-rage slapfight where one of my guys kept stealing cupboards from a neighbour, so the neighbour showed up and tried to smash our still setting claim, so we went and smashed their claim while pushing them around so they couldn't smash ours, and then they quit once we won. :3c

True that is irritating, and I would like a peaceful world also (more social interaction, trading, exploring, etc. ....there are plenty of ways to get killed in this game without worrying any other player you see will kill you just because you are there), but this game isn't exactly "permadeath" as advertised. If/when you get killed just start a new character and inherit from the old, you will spawn at their hf, own everything they owned, and have around 60% of their abilities and stats (find and bury them and get even more). So "death" is just a temporary setback to your progress.

Learn to keep an eye on the mini-map (keep it zoomed in so you can see icons) and hearth home if it seems prudent. Get a pali up as soon as possible; learn about visitor gates and slave keys. Never publicly divulge your location. Never meet with anyone you don't know, except at a market. I'd say 95% of the people you encounter in the game are friendly, most will be just as wary as you, but you never know when that other 5% is there; "better safe than sorry".

In the past four worlds I was attacked only once by another player (only KO'd), killed by animals three times (wolverine, lynx, and bear).

Legacy Haven gives you this experience for a mere $15.
