Enviromental temperatures when

So Yeah having enviromental hazards like temperature would add a nice dynamic to the game requireing clothing.

With additional wounds if you are exposed to long without protection like frost wounds in winter or heatstroke in summer.

My thought was to have climate zones. An "arctic" zone at the north and south of the map, a "tropical" and/or "desert" zone through the center, and temperate zones separating them. Each zone would have some flora and fauna unique to it, and each would have some unique resources. Travel to the arctic areas would require warm clothing and building fires; working in desert areas would require more water and would have more stamina drain. Living in the extremes would present special challenges but would have rewards worth the effort (for example in the arctic you would need to keep fires burning, cisterns would be necessary since barrels would freeze in a day or so unless inside, farming would be poor at best, but gold and minerals would be more prevalent).

Considering seasons are global and new players can accidentally start during winter: No.

Could add mechanics to help new players not die, like a temporary buff and a heatstone they can warm in a campfire keeping them warm for a while.

People would spawn in the temperate zones, going to an arctic area would be their decision.

Minor wounds would be cool with some ways to raise and lower your body temperature.
Maybe some special clothes like a sunhat or a scarf but don't make me craft entire sets just for hot/cold climate.
They had Body Temperature in Salem but it was really poorly implemented. They can do better.Image
