Deep worm from rat bites?

My character has been getting deep worm once or twice every day. Due to season there are no midges and i dont let ticks get me. What i encounter a lot is cave rats. Is it possible to get this sickness from rats? Let me remind you this character rarely leaves that cave and has no sand flea bites etc. Has this mechanic been changed? Its becoming too annoying to forage for tansy every 2-3 hours.

Idk about rats but you can just grow tansy in a pot to avoid this

Either rats, bats or being underground my character got the same after caving for a while.

Does it eat in the cave as well?
I vaguely remember someone mentioning eating old meat/food as a cause, and I do tend to get deep worm after eating (during a session where I don't leave my place).

Yeah, I had this too. Spent some time building on a mountain with no chance to encounter midges, ticks, anything else, only thing was I ate a bunch of old spitroasted bullshit while working, and wound up with a 2% deep worm.
