The Birdhouse and Postbox could really use some more functionality. Allow us to send Letters to other players.

Letter Crafting Recipe: Parchment + Wax

A Letter has a 1x2 inventory like the Pelican's Pouch. It can be placed into the inventory of a Birdhouse and if a Homesteaded Dove is present, the letter will be shipped to a random Postbox somewhere on the map. The recipient can open the Letter to retrieve the items and potentially send back a follow-up Letter.

It's just a fun LARP idea. Make some pen pals. Trade items. Troll other players.

I agree though the postbox deserves to be more functional, this world it just became home to my shears and matches

make the postbox an upgrade for questgivers. build one close enough to your favourite tree friend and it unlocks mailman quests for that questgiver
