Display combat level above the heads of players/animals edit

Postby XBBW » Fri Dec 05, 2025 8:33 pm

I think this would help out a lot of old and new players, where a toggle in toggle section displays combat level on the heads of the players and animals.
I am not 100% sure, but combat stats are determined by unarmed combat, melee combat, marksmanship, strength and agility, pvp and pve fandoms correct me if I am wrong.
So if in all of those the player/animal is at lowest then they are level either 1 or 10 depending whichever devs would prefer it to go by either base atributes or abilties to determine the outcome fo the average combat level displayed above the player or animal.
Since it would be nice to have such function in the toggles section to either display combat level or not to display it, because I really think it would help out a lot of players starting out in pve and then later pvp. Since if I am combat level 10 and the animal is 30 then yea avoid it, if I am 40 and it is 20, then yea I am gonna kick its ass and if we both are 50, then it will be matter of skill and move sets I have saved.
Also not sure if contitution would be part of combat level or not, if player has a lot of constitution, then they are like a damage sponge.
And finally I don't think you can insepct the quality of the living animal and I doubt that quality 15 fox means it has 15 strength and 15 agility.
EDIT
What about then instead Inspect shows living animal quality, constitution, agility, strength and so on. Either clicking the inspect and then on minimap icon or from afar.
Also no one seems to have confirmed that animal quality = their stats. If like they are quality 20 let's say boar, then it has 20 constitution, 20 agility and so on (which I doubt that is the case).
Also why not have same for players too, give more funstions to inspect.

There are just too many variables when it comes to combat strength to try and measure. And when PvP is involved any attempt to allow you to gauge opponents can become exploity.

More ui bloat in a game already completely overloaded with ui bloat. For PvE new players mostly wouldn't know the option exists in the pile of a billion different settings/toggles they already struggle to learn, old players really don't need to know because they are 100% cheese hunting anyway.

No comment on the pvp side, I really don't enjoy the pvp so I don't know enough to comment. The things players need to learn combat is not stats of opponents though. It's how to properly industry to feed/curio your characters and how to run properly.

i didn't really know how to say any number that could be derived miight not be too useful in any context

like there's no real combat level to speak of, some function of strength con and ua wouldn't be too informative either
