Default client needs some love

Postby Barbamaus » Tue Dec 16, 2025 5:51 pm

I've been playing on the default client for several worlds now, and despite custom clients offering bots and other very useful features, I do like the idea of playing as devs intended.

That being said, I do think default could use some slight upgrades. Nothing like bots or huge automations, just some QoL things:

- The ability to sort by quality when moving items between containers. Every custom client has it, and it is a huge timesaver. In just a couple of clicks, all your onions are sorted by quality and you can immediately pick the highest ones to replant, instead of having to check them manually one by one.

- The second thing I'd love to see is different icons for map markers. Flags are ok, but having different icons would make things more intuitive. Could be as simple as geometrical shapes (square, cross, triangle, etc), or more elaborated (like crave, water drop, clay, flower, animal, etc). I try to color-code my markers, but it's not enough of a visual cue for some things.

I'm sure there's tons of other stuff that could be added, bot these two would be at the top of my list.

Thanks

Would make so much sense if the devs actually played

The critical question here is how often god mode was involved.
Although ... as normal users can't check or verify that. The answer itself has little weight.

This is going off-topic fast.

If they play, they know what the default client could use. If they don't, this is a good starting point to ask for small features that don't break the game, but do add some quality of life to those who chose (or are forced to) play through vanilla client.
