Farming used to be a chore and it has been simplified greatly to great effect. I can now harvest and, similarly, plant crops in a straightforward and efficient manner.
The cauldron of today - the metal cauldron above all else - in comparison to every other potential utensil used for cooking is by far the most tedious utensil to use. It goes so far that in every single world I've been in, me as well as my friends always shutter whenever any recipe requires the cauldron and we agree to just leave whatever it is be because it's too much of a bother and instead opt for every other alternative recipe that does not require cauldron usage.
The problem is manifold, but if you asked me the main issue seems to be the water storage/usage of cauldrons. Since every recipe at a cauldron uses up water, making batches of anything in a row at a cauldron quickly becomes unfeasible or at least unattractive. You have to keep restocking gallons of water even if you don't boil all that much.
My suggestion to simplify cauldrons is thus the following:
Add an upgrade to metal cauldrons, a big pot where you can store perhaps 100l of water to boil with.
It would still require equal effort to bring all the water to boil with, but you wouldn't have to refill water every few recipes you finish.
