Bigger pickling vessels

Postby Pichu » Sat Jan 24, 2026 7:19 pm

Hi!

Pickling is such a chore, especially when doing massive amounts of the same type.

What about making something like the korean pots that are used for kimchi, that you can pickle bigger batches in
Image

Make them big, hold 36 slots and 50-100l+ of pickling liquid?

Could be lifted and the pickling brine poured, just like tanning tubs.

If not that atleast something bigger in glass.

Thanks for reading.

While I agree with how pickling is now (leaving an extra space for fermentation is not a big ask) I would like a huge pickle barrel

Agreed. Also doesn't make sense how brine can take 2 spices but you don't benefit from it at all, just make it 1 spice in the recipe.

Probably the right thing to do!
