Sort Cupboard Button

Simple complex, no clue how hard it is to impliment. A button to sort cupboards so that it automatically stacks objects of the same type and does so by quality. Each item is auto-stacked by quality into the max, i.e meat x5. It's trivial, but annoying, to have to sift through your stacks of (anything, really) for quality. Especially if these items are all identical. Sort Cupboard button will sort the entire (cupboards only) selection leaving the highest quality at the top. It shouldn't mix quality with stacks that are averaged, like flour or cave dust.

On that note, maybe asking too much here, but a quality preference button. Crafting from one cupboard you can select an option to automatically start using the lowest or the highest quality material within.

I half-heartedly tongue-in-my-cheek asked Nightdawg the creator of Hurricane client to "invent a magic button that sorts everything in stacks inside a container" and, much to my humbling ashameness, the guy provided a rudimentary interface of "stack all " and "unstack all" buttons for a container in, ilke, few hours (and been tweaking that interface ever since). So, if you wanna try it, check out the Hurricane client on Steam - it (mostly) does that thing you ask for without (mostly) crashing the game XD

This reminds me that ctrl + shift/alt + scroll wheel used to sort by highest/lowest quality, I wonder why it doesn't anymore. Since crafting takes the last item touched sorting them this way used to effectively do what you're asking.

As you said it kinda/sorta works, but requires taking items out, and loading them back in, but with a full cubby of intestines or curios it's an annoying extra step. Tbh with all the stacking and whatnot you'd think the game would naturally react this way but no.

Fun stacking behavior.
Add an item to a stack and it ends up at the end of the stack list (first out).
While with create a stack, the item that was dropped onto the other item ends up in first place (last out).
Go Figure ...
