In the spirit of not fixing stuff we've been complaining about for years, but rather making it worse (Steel Fuel running out, 1.5x speed now), here's my suggestion:
A BRAND NEW MECHANIC! (wow!)
Persistence Hunting
- Increase the armor of mammoths to one million. You can't damage the mammoth unless it's passed out (you're a tiny human, you can't overpower a big bad mammoth, mate)
- In order to knock out the large animal, you follow it around for days, until it passes out from exhaustion. I'd say 48 hours of real life time where at least 1 player has to follow the animal around should be fine. This fits perfectly with the anti-botting measures we usually see, that actually only help bots and make the game worse for the rest of us.
Once the persistence hunting is done, you can butcher it normally.
This Persistence Hunting mechanic could apply to many other animals too! (wow!)
Oh hey, I just got another amazing idea in the middle of this shitpost:
Persistence Hunting part 2:
- Quadruple the movement speed for fast animals (red deers, the other smaller more useless deers, the winter deers which are also useless shit, and moose). You can't catch the speedy animal unless it's exhausted (you're a funny human that doesn't have air jordans mate)
Thank you for your consideration
