Introduce a winter string

I know players have generally complained about winter but the game is practically unplayable if you start a fresh character during winter. You have no access to clothes, backpacks, dream catchers not to mention a way to make rope or drying racks for a palisade.

At the very least make bark cordage craftable with any bark, not just tough bark.

It is. You can even use birch bark. It's still miserable when so many early settling crafts needs it, especially rope.

It's only bearable by the fact I am the only active player in the region since unlike foragable strings, bark is finite and dependent on the trees around you. Imagine competing with other players for bark

There is no way this is an actual issue even during the first winter of a fresh World. You can already scavenge inactive claims by then.

There's another way to get rope: hunting. Rope can be made from animal hides.
There's no shortage of animals in winter.

If you research which trees' bark can be used to make thread, you'll find that the bark of all these trees can be used in Haven for threadmaking.
Adding the ability to make thread from any bark would be inappropriate.
One option might be to increase the amount of bark per tree.

But for other players, finding two threads for the drying rack isn't a problem at all. We're not talking about two, but about a large number of threads for different needs, and thread from hides is one option in winter.
