Dry ancient root

Postby Justforthis » Tue May 05, 2026 10:02 pm

Let us dry or preserve ancient root, let it lose it's function to be consumed to heal wounds when dried, but still being able to use it as material for Druid's Ring.

That's it, that's the whole suggestion.

What if instead of implementing anything convoluted...

'Ancient Root' turns into 'Dry Ancient Root' instead of disappearing, when it "expires"
'Druid's Ring' now requires 'Dry Ancient Root' instead of 'Ancient Root'

"Drying out plant roots leads to radical changes in their structure and functionality, often irreversible.
Necrosis (degradation): Dry roots lose elasticity, become brittle, and turn into a plug, losing their ability to conduct water."

I think this will make it difficult to create a ring from a dried root.

Yeah that's a good implementation.

It can be pickled or whatever I don't care so long as druids ring is more manageable to craft.

Perhaps it was made specifically to make it difficult to manufacture. Like silk. Or steel. So you'd control two points or buy/trade the missing second root.
Pickling sounds like an option.
