Make leather process faster / Increase Vandalism skill cost

W16.2 - Rage costs 40k less, so you can get Vandalism faster.
This means you can be attacked faster than before by destroying for example Fences that protects you from Vandalism,
but it still takes 44 hours to make leather (dry skin hide and then put in tanning tub to make leather).

Conclusion: You're more likely to not even start building a palisade because someone bought Vandalism faster.

I think it is even tempting to buy Vandalism because Rage costs way less than before

Okay so they should increase LP required to buy Vandalism skill

Jorbtar decreased Rage skill to 10k LP because of this post: viewtopic.php?f=48&t=80940

But Vatas said: "I personally would change Rage cost to be as low as 10k and move the 40k cost to skills like Theft and Vandalism."

They didn't move the 40k LP which is retarded, they basically allowed griefers to destroy other bases faster and you can't do anything about this

its 25k trespass, 50k theft, 50k vand.

but yeah, i also got smashed and robbed and that feels pretty lame when it's literally not possible for me to have a counter to that yet due to leather.

maybe if stone walls had more health and took more STR to bash it would help a little.

maybe smashing stuff should deal SHP damage per hit and not per thing broken so a thief has to weaken themselves to get into your base (but then again that lets you make 100 layers of fences)

Its always been the case, the vandal has always been faster then vandal and palisade dry time. the solution is not as simple as making things faster because what if you join 1 day late? a week late? The only way is to hide successfully and have multiple backups, if you put everything in the same place you are not planning properly. multiple claims, multiple small satellite bases. multiple unclaimed hidden frames/tubs. sure its alot to manage but I have yet to have a world were more then 2 of my stashes have been found.

You just have to be a bit smarter then assuming you will be lucky not to get raided.

yea but that's a lot of trouble and like objectively not fun.

it would be fun if i were able to defend my settlement but like what am i gonna do, KO him and steal my stuff back and get outlawed and let him and 2 friends kill me at my hearthfire that i can't protect until hour 50?

to add onto myself one idea is that "perimeter walls" are a new separate kind of fence/wall that includes palisade/bwall and a new simple stone one that only takes like 30 STR to bash but has a lot more HP than the stone fence, and perimeter walls can only be box shaped and you can only have 1 layer per claim, thus meaning you need to put it on the outermost part of your claim, and that smashing "perimeter walls" deals SHP DoT or per smack and not per piece smashed. obviously raid parties will just have a designated wall smasher but it would at least give people who are willing to battle for their new claim a fighting chance early on here where the thief has to understand that by buying expensive crime skills he's losing LP his victims may have spent on UA/MC/MM and that he won't fight at maximum capability if they retaliate. (this would also solve cringe losers building 20 layers of palisade to make themselves unraidable.)

Yes, but a single guy getting both vandalism and rage now pays 40k LP less, which adds from several hours to a full day to people's safe window.

Also single continent spawn, and free TW jumps and TW party sharing make it easier than ever to go around and mess with people all over the map.

Adding to that, looting is also easier thanks to the Teleport to Ring of Brodgar thing. Just spawn an alt where you need to loot, and tp stuff to RoB where you can grab it immediately with another alt.

I'm honestly really perplexed by the ring of brodgar thing.

I wish the devs would go and enjoy the harassfest they've created.
It's beyond delusional to believe that people who don't want to engage in PvP will still invest in it because of the artificially created hostile enviroment. (Earlier combat readiness, usually by combat-dedicated alts; Way easier means of manhunting; Less chance to escape hostile areas/players, with uchanged means of gaining safety).
They'll either win a lottery and get their palis up and dried, or experience one-sided slaughter, and probably leave the game, at least for the period of time.
And once more, to the people who yell "It's natural selection, let weak people quit", this game has a lot of different content that people might enjoy. It's a shame that current conditions, indeed, cull people out of the game for a loud minority entertaiment.

yeah like i love the non-consenual pvp as much as the next guy (actually probably more) but most of the changes only benefit wanton griefing.

it's supposed to be high pvp world but no TW means if you waste time (or have a friend) getting tons of thingwalls you can commit crimes all over the place and port home hours away where nobody will bother following you for said pvp.

also if you just don't care about your character or have friends and a lot of free time to protect said character you can commit tons of crimes on day 1 or 2 before palisades are possible and again, the victims can't do anything because they DO care about their character/value their time and the only way to enact vengeance would be to KO and steal from their assailant (easier said than done since they probably have friends and are hours away) which outlaws them and would then allow their assailant (who doesn't care about their character and has a lot of free time and tons of thingwalls) to port right back and kill you at your hearth because you can't have a palisade yet and thus have absolutely no way to protect yourself.

like look im having fun im having a good time but most of the changes were SOOOO poorly thought out (HOW THE FUCK did they think the instant claim thing was a good idea for even a second) that i dont blame anyone for being disappointed and sitting out or immediately leaving this world. honestly we should have just gotten w17.
