Let us decide if kinned people see equipment/online status

It would be nice if we could kin people, allowing us to chat at them at any time, but also separately allow or disallow them from seeing if we're online/offline or our character's portrait. The idea here is that:

A: You can kin neighbors and such and either of you can decide to mask kin status or equipment if you're not sure you can trust each other, but can still chat and thus do some trading and whatnot to gain trust, and
B: You can kin people you KNOW you can't trust and still be able to chat to them if you want to.

I specifically think B would be fun because there's this lone raider who's chased me a couple times and it would be fun if we could kin each other without the privacy violations and be like "ohhhh that was close you almost got me!" "oohhhh i would have had you too if not for that speed boost!" "oooohhh!" "ooooooohhhhhhh!"

So basically split kin list in two categories? I'm maybe okay with the equipment aspect, but the online status change feels like it's gonna remove the rare instances where you could help your neighbours/group track ppl that know you as friendly unaffiliated trader. Maybe it's for the best tho, since for every time that I've done to ppl who deserved it, some scum has done it to clueless sprucies tenfold. +0.5

honestly, i don't think anyone else gives least amount of crap if their gear is shown on kinned list. as of annoying message popup "XXX has logged in", why do you care? this is splitting hair in its finest, a need of 0.03% player base dictating needs over everyone else. Some might even consider this a boasting right, "you kinned me? then watch my fabulous 0 gild, Q20 gear in its finest"

Also how are you supposed to message them if you don't know they are online? Haven doesn't have a permanent chat. And doesn't need one, before someone suggests to make it a messaging app.

the message goes through and you're just not allowed to know if it was received. if you don't like that, ask them to permiss you. if they won't, too bad.
