Re: Custom client for Haven & Hearth - Amber

Don't know if this has been suggested or not, but I really liked the mini map in the Ender's client. You could enlarge it, move it around, and you could move the map around as well. So you could look around you. Is this possible to get into the Amber client?

Problem when trying to run the Stitch file:

Not allocating enough memory I assume? How should I give it more?

Check your map session folder for black .png files - looks like the stitcher deems those corrupted hence cannot work them out. Delete if found (most likely you will find some) and run stitcher again - should work.

Try updating video drivers. What video card do you have?

Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000, up to date.

Make sure the drivers are up to date. In case if you have additional discrete card like NVIDIA or ATI then update those as well. But Intel 3000 should work, I am using it myself.[/quote]

How do I know if I have any such additional drivers? It says my Intel 3000 is up to date.
Is there anything else I can do? This seems to be a staple for both your and Paradox's custom clients, but I have no trouble(except for lack of mapping support) with the default client.
W3 to W6 - Blockland. Special mentions: New Avalon, Tarn of Hotdog, Red October.
W7 - Elvenia, til we all got lazy.
W8 - Cult of R'lyeh, til the deeps called us back.
W9 - Tartarus, til death/wizards came for the land itself.
W10 - ???, ruined and forgotten.

This might solve your problem?
Let me know if it works, Im guessing its been a lib issue the entire time

(Mind you its my client, but the fix if it works would work for any client)

Run with
Code: Select all
java -Xms512m -Xmx1024m -cp . Stitch "PATH TO THE MAP SESSION DIRECTORY" "OUTPUT FILE NAME"

If the map is really huge then increase -Xmx to 2048

x64 windows version seems unavaiable.

That's very strange. The error basically says that a certain feature is not supported by your video card, but Intel HD 3000 has it for sure, that's what I have too. I haven't touched any graphics related parts in the code yet anyway, so it should be identical to the default client. I'll try to dig into it more later, but frankly I am not sure what the problem is,

Use mirrors, dropbox is very bad uploading service which closes if you are sharing something else than 100 kilobyte pictures for 2 downloaders

Pushed an update

  • Daylight/nightvision mode
  • Better font

Client is distributed now as a single zip for all platforms. It should work on Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X.
